Getting the Most from your Golf Lessons

It’s never an easy task asking for help, but in golf, it really is a necessity. Unfortunately, we usually ask our mates and partners, when in reality we really should take a lesson or three.

At first glance, you would think that a Pro would critique your game harshly, but really they are honest, positive and extremely helpful.

Lessons at your local course are not nearly as expensive as you might think and are also worth it because your end game will rapidly improve and in turn, cause you less frustration making your game far more enjoyable.

The priority here, is being honest about your game. The Pro should ask you what you here you want to start;
driving, putting, chipping or what ever aspect of your game you feel you need the most help with.

Listen closely and follow his/her instructions to the tee (no punt intended). You are going to doubt the Pro if they suggest changes in your stance, your swing or even your grip; the Pro does know the best though! Get the most from your golf lessons.

Don’t ever hesitate to ask them questions. Don’t worry about if you believe the question or concern is silly/stupid, they have heard it all before and I am sure will not make you feel like an idiot for asking them. It is important to remember that if you simply don’t “get it”, tell him/her that you are not understanding it. Ensure you never walk away from your lesson with questions unanswered .

You can concentrate on one simple thing during your lesson, or several. You might start with a lesson in chipping; get the right grip, the right swing, the right stance etc.. in one lesson, and then practice it over and over again! Next time, you might work on your long game, or even your putting.

You’ve taken it upon yourself to invest in the equipment, does it not make sense to grasp the concept and learn how to use them to their full advantage whilst improving your abilities?
